End of school year at San Mateo

It is the end of the school year in San Mateo school. We start back again at the end of February 2006.
For the school event marking the end of the year, we had songs, Christmas Carols and a Nativity play.

We had three visitors from Markham College as guests of honour. Markham is a school in Lima which has supported our school a lot over the past few years. Last year it hosted on Open Day for all of San Mateo school, and many of our computers and furniture are donated by Markham.

The nativity play involved children from Grade 1 and Grade 3 as angels (angeles), cows (vacas), donkeys(burros), shepherds(pastores) and sheep (ovejas). Children from Grade 6 played recorders and all the school had English songs to sing.

Also for the end of the school year, we had hot chocolate and paneton cake on Friday, with singing and games.

On Tuesday, after the school term had ended, we put on an event for the abuelas (grandmothers) of the children in San Mateo. This too was singing, dancing, games, hot chocolate and paneton cake around the Christmas Tree.

Feliz Navidad !

A farewell trip to Canta

The San Mateo children in their final year of Primary school went on a day trip to Canta, a beautiful part of God's creation. The children enjoyed playing in the river, painting watercolours and horse-riding.
